Childbirth Education

Over the course of three prenatal visits, we will make sure you have all of the information you need to feel confident walking into the birth space. We will go over your medical options for your birth, so that you feel comfortable with the terms you may hear on the big day.  We may also practice labour comfort techniques, go over the signs of labour starting and talk through how you are feeling throughout pregnancy!

Placental Encapsulation

I follow safe protocols to encapsulate the placenta for consumption after birth. This includes steaming, dehydrating and processing the placenta into capsules, as well as delivering them to your home. Consuming the placental tissue postpartum has been known to provide energy and hormones that ease the body's healing process. 

Birth Planning 

As part of our prenatal visits, we will work together to create a birth plan that is just right for you. The birth plan is a tool for outlining your hopes, but also for creating discussion about what happens if things don't go according to plan. I want you to feel ready and excited for the birth you will have, regardless. We will make a checklist of items to bring to the birth, and create a plan for immediately postpartum.

Birth Processing

Giving birth is an incredibly beautiful experience, one you may have been waiting to have for months or years. It can also take unexpected twists and turns that leave you with some complex emotions, all of which are good and normal! Should you need support in coming to terms with your birth experience, I will hold space for you.

Labour Support

The big day! I will be with you every step of the way, from the onset of active labour to after baby is born. My job during labour is to be fully present with you, help you advocate for your preferences and integrate your birth team into your labour.  Whether you are giving birth in hospital, at a birth centre, or at home, I am here to facilitate your experience, and your partner's, if you have one.

Postpartum Support

I offer continuous support postpartum to let you focus on resting and bonding with your new baby. I can perform light cleaning tasks in your home, provide basic information about infant feeding, and even take care of baby (while you are home) to let you rest. You will have full access to my resource list of birth support professionals, who can help you during this period of adjustment.
